The Maze Runner By : James Dashner
The Maze Runner has been banned for a few reasons such as “violence”, “anti-family”, “anti-ethnic”, and “offensive content”. The story is about this boy Thomas who is sent into a Maze with a bunch of boys his age and they have to try to escape. There is quite a bit of violence but it's a scary dystopian series that was written to be a book that was a little scary and rough so it might not be for you if you want a calmer book. Anti-family and ethnic could be true but it was for the better to help the kids survive and to find a cure for everyone. They do remove all memory but it is not because they don’t want them to remember their past and family they don’t want them to know how to get out. For offensive content there is no actual cursing but they do make up words and they are not always good words but they are being controlled and don’t normally mean what they say. I do no think it should be banned because it is a very good well written story that you want to keep reading but it might not be for everyone. I also think it is more of a middle school book but we had books groups in fifth grade and two of the five groups read that book and than all read the rest of the series.
